Break Coffee Co. has expanded its U.S. presence with the launch of a new franchise operation in North Dakota, securing a statewide territory as it continues to scale its workplace-focused coffee model across underserved markets.
The territory has been awarded to a local entrepreneur with experience spanning manufacturing, agriculture, and industrial sectors, positioning the brand to tap into strong regional networks and blue-collar workplaces. The franchisee will oversee the rollout across offices, job sites, and commercial facilities, targeting a segment where demand for higher-quality coffee solutions is steadily rising.
Unlike traditional café-driven concepts, Break Coffee operates a “coffee-as-a-service” model, installing bean-to-cup machines at client locations and supplying freshly roasted coffee on a subscription basis. The offering includes maintenance and restocking, allowing businesses to avoid upfront equipment costs while giving franchisees a recurring revenue stream tied to usage.
Founded in 2003 under the Xpresso Delight brand, Break Coffee has grown into an international franchise network with more than 200 units across the U.S., Australia, and New Zealand. The concept is positioned as a low-overhead, home-based franchise that prioritizes sales, client relationships, and route-based servicing over brick-and-mortar retail.
The North Dakota expansion reflects the company’s strategy of awarding large territories to operators capable of scaling across geographically dispersed markets, while also aligning with a broader trend of employers investing in workplace amenities to improve employee satisfaction and productivity.
The move underscores increasing momentum within the franchise sector toward service-led, subscription-driven models that offer flexibility and predictable income streams, particularly in regions where traditional café formats face higher operational barriers.
