The Wendy’s Company has reached the 100-restaurant mark in the Philippines, marking a major milestone in one of its longest-standing international markets and reinforcing its expansion ambitions across Southeast Asia.
The 100th Wendy’s restaurant is located on Friendship Highway in Angeles City, Pampanga, a fast-growing urban hub. Owned and operated by Wenphil Corporation, the milestone outlet reflects the brand’s continued focus on delivering fresh, high-quality food and welcoming hospitality to more communities across the country.
Wendy’s first entered the Philippines in 1982 and has since built a strong presence with Filipino consumers through made-to-order offerings, localized menu innovation, and a modern restaurant experience. Today, Wenphil Corporation leads store operations, development, and expansion in the market. The company is part of the broader portfolio of Udenna Corporation, founded by Dennis Uy, providing strategic backing for Wendy’s growth in the country.
The milestone comes as the Philippines’ quick-service restaurant (QSR) sector continues to expand rapidly, recording nearly 19% annual growth over the past five years. The market remains highly active, with more than 70% of consumers visiting a QSR at least once a week, driven by demand for convenient, high-quality and accessible meal options.
Chris Conway, SVP and Managing Director, APMEA at The Wendy’s Company, said: “Reaching 100 Wendy’s restaurants in the Philippines is a meaningful milestone for our brand and a testament to the strength of this market. The Philippines continues to be an important growth market for Wendy’s in the region, and we’re proud to expand alongside Wenphil to bring our iconic menu and exceptional hospitality to even more Filipino communities.”
Wenphil has played a central role in scaling the brand locally, focusing on high-traffic urban and suburban locations while investing in new restaurant formats aligned with evolving customer expectations. With the 100-store milestone, the company remains on track toward its long-term development agreement to operate 200 Wendy’s restaurants in the Philippines by 2030.
Joey Garcia, President and CEO of Wenphil Corporation, said: “We are incredibly proud to celebrate the opening of our 100th Wendy’s restaurant in the Philippines. This accomplishment reflects the dedication of our teams, the strength of our partnership with Wendy’s, and the continued loyalty of our customers. As we look ahead, we remain focused on delivering the quality, freshness, and hospitality that sets Wendy’s apart in the market.”
Wendy’s, founded in 1969, operates more than 7,000 restaurants globally, the majority through franchise partners.
Following the milestone, Wendy’s Philippines plans to expand its footprint to 200 restaurants by 2030, with growth expected across Metro Manila and key provincial cities through a mix of mall-based outlets, freestanding units, and drive-thru formats. The company will also continue investing in menu localisation, value offerings, and digital capabilities, including delivery and online ordering, as it scales in one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing QSR markets.
