Domino’s Pizza Enterprises Secures France Master Franchise Renewal

Date:

DPE secures continuity of its French master franchise operations, overseeing a network of 453 Domino’s restaurants, including 439 franchised outlets.

Domino’s Pizza Enterprises Limited (DPE), the Australian-listed master franchise operator for Domino’s Pizza in France, has renewed its master franchise agreement for the market, following a series of extensions during 2026.

The latest development was announced on November 2, 2026, through DPE’s investor announcements. It follows an October 1 update in which the company confirmed that its master franchise agreements for France and Belgium, originally due to expire on June 30, 2026, had been extended until October 31, 2026, to allow the renewal process to be completed.

The November announcement confirms the renewal of the French agreement, maintaining DPE’s position as the master franchise operator responsible for developing and managing the Domino’s business in France. DPE operates under an agreement with Domino’s Pizza, Inc., the US-based owner of the global brand, while individual franchisees operate restaurants across the French market.

France is an established market within DPE’s international portfolio. The company acquired the French Domino’s business in 2006, building on the brand’s presence in the country since 1989. It subsequently expanded its network, including through the acquisition of the Pizza Sprint franchise network in 2016.

The French network comprises approximately 453 restaurants, including 439 franchised outlets and 14 company-operated locations. This makes France a significant market for DPE’s European operations, with the majority of restaurants managed by independent franchise operators under its master franchise structure.

According to the French Franchise Federation’s franchise information, opening a Domino’s restaurant in France requires an estimated initial investment of €300,000 to €350,000, excluding property costs, with a minimum personal contribution of approximately €80,000. The standard franchise agreement generally runs for 10 years.

The renewal comes as DPE continues to work on improving the performance of its French business. The company has faced profitability pressures in the market, making operational improvements, restaurant-level performance and franchise network development important priorities.

For DPE, retaining the French master franchise agreement provides continuity in a sizeable European market and supports its wider international operations.
