Kitchen Makeovers Strengthens UK Expansion with Two New Franchise Launches

Date:

UK-based home improvement franchise ‘Kitchen Makeovers’ has expanded its growing network with the addition of two new franchisees, as professionals from different industries continue to seek greater flexibility, independence and long-term career satisfaction through franchising.

The brand has welcomed Steve Hanrahan in Chelmsford and Dean Gregory in Gloucester, taking the company’s franchise network to more than 40 franchisees across the UK. Founded in 2018, Kitchen Makeovers specialises in cost-effective kitchen renovations, offering replacement doors, worktops and upgrades that transform existing kitchens without requiring a full refit.

According to the company, both franchisees were drawn to the business model for its structured support system, established marketing framework and the opportunity to build a customer-focused local business.

“We’re seeing more people reach a stage where they want something different from their working lives,” said Will Frankling, Co-founder of Kitchen Makeovers. “For Steve and Dean, this wasn’t about starting over, it was about applying the skills and experience they’d already built in a new environment that offers more enjoyment, control and long-term satisfaction.”

Steve Hanrahan, 54, has launched Kitchen Makeovers Chelmsford after spending nearly 20 years in technology sales. While successful in the sector, he said he was looking for a more rewarding and hands-on business opportunity. “I got to the stage where I was waking up on Monday mornings thinking, I really don’t want to be doing this anymore,” Steve said. “I had a good reputation in the industry and it would have been easier to stay where I was, but I wanted to actually enjoy the large part of my week that’s dedicated to making a living.”

Despite only recently completing training, Steve secured three customer appointments ahead of his official launch, supported by the franchise’s existing marketing systems.

“The support behind the franchise has definitely given me confidence moving into a completely new industry,” he added. “What really inspired me to join Kitchen Makeovers was that renovating somebody’s kitchen is something they’re genuinely excited about. You’re helping improve a huge part of their home and daily life.”

Joining the network alongside Steve is Dean Gregory, 63, who has launched in Gloucester after operating a motorbike spares business for the past two decades.

Dean said he explored multiple franchise opportunities before deciding on Kitchen Makeovers. “Franchising felt like the best route because you’ve got the backing in place to help you build something successful,” Dean explained. “It was Kitchen Makeovers that stood out to me. The branding looked professional, the systems seemed strong and, at this stage in my life, choosing something where I wasn’t cleaning windows, mowing lawns or spending all day in a van really appealed.”

Dean also praised the company’s onboarding and training process, highlighting the importance of product knowledge and confidence when engaging with customers.

As demand for affordable home renovation solutions continues to rise across the UK, Kitchen Makeovers is positioning itself as an accessible alternative to full kitchen replacements, while continuing to attract franchisees from diverse professional backgrounds.
