Body Fit Training (BFT) has launched the PODIUM Series, a new global fitness competition designed to deepen member engagement, improve retention and create additional revenue opportunities for its franchise network.
The initiative transforms BFT’s science-based group training model into a structured in-studio competition, giving members a goal-oriented performance event while providing franchisees with a commercially scalable activation that extends beyond traditional memberships.
The inaugural PODIUM event will take place across participating studios on 2 August, with winners to be announced on 4 August.
Competition Built Around Performance
PODIUM challenges members to compete in teams of two across four performance zones that test strength, endurance, conditioning and overall work capacity. Live leaderboards track results throughout the event, creating a competitive atmosphere while remaining aligned with BFT’s coach-led, progressive training methodology.
Unlike standalone fitness competitions, PODIUM has been designed to integrate seamlessly into the brand’s existing programming, allowing members to prepare through their regular training while building towards a shared performance milestone.
“We’ve always focused on measurable progress at BFT, so PODIUM is really about giving that progress a different stage,” said Cameron Falloon, Founder of Body Fit Training.
Driving Engagement and Retention
Beyond competition, BFT expects the initiative to strengthen member participation by encouraging more consistent attendance, greater accountability and stronger community connections within studios.
Preparing for the event gives members a common objective, increasing engagement in the weeks leading up to competition day while reinforcing long-term retention through shared experiences.
The format also serves as a customer acquisition tool, with non-members invited to participate and experience BFT’s coaching, training methodology and studio culture firsthand.
New Commercial Opportunities for Franchisees
For franchise owners, PODIUM adds another revenue stream beyond recurring memberships.
Studios can generate income through event registrations while also creating opportunities for local sponsorships, branded merchandise and event-day activations. The competition also acts as a live showcase for prospective members, offering an experiential alternative to traditional marketing campaigns.
“By creating a high-energy entry point for non-members, PODIUM supports member acquisition in a way that feels experiential rather than promotional,” Falloon said. “Studios are able to showcase their coaching, culture and training in a live environment, which often converts more effectively than traditional marketing channels.”
Designed for Global Franchise Expansion
BFT said PODIUM has been developed as a globally scalable event format that can be delivered consistently across its international franchise network while allowing individual studios to tailor execution to local market conditions.
Franchisees receive operational, programming, sales and marketing support to ensure the event can be implemented efficiently and replicated across multiple locations.
“Our focus has always been to build things that help our franchisees grow in real terms,” Falloon added. “PODIUM is simple to execute but it works across multiple parts of the business, engagement, retention and local revenue. That’s what makes it valuable for our franchisees at a studio level.”
Founded by elite sports performance coach Cameron Falloon, Body Fit Training operates a global network of functional group training studios, combining progressive strength and conditioning programmes with coach-led sessions and technology-driven performance tracking. The franchise has expanded across Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Singapore, Hong Kong, the United States and several other international markets, positioning itself as one of the fastest-growing boutique fitness franchise brands worldwide.
