BurritoBar Adds Nevada With 32-Unit Master Franchise Deal

Date:

BurritoBar USA Inc., operating as Barrio Burrito Bar in the U.S., is expanding into Nevada through a new Master Franchise agreement with Yamini Patel. The deal provides development rights for 32 restaurants across Nevada over 20 years, adding the state to the brand’s growing U.S. franchise pipeline.

The Nevada agreement brings Barrio Burrito Bar’s U.S. contractual commitments to more than 1,624 units, according to the company. The brand has been using a Master Franchise strategy to accelerate expansion by partnering with territory operators responsible for developing multiple restaurants within defined markets.

Jeff Young, Chief Development Officer of Barrio Burrito Bar, said the Master Franchise model is a key part of the company’s expansion strategy, giving territory partners an opportunity to generate recurring revenue through franchise fees and royalties.

The Nevada agreement follows Master Franchise deals covering markets across the U.S., including Michigan, Florida, Virginia, Maryland, Tennessee, Iowa, Nebraska, North Texas, Illinois, Ohio, New Jersey, Georgia, Kentucky, Indiana, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Alabama and South Carolina.

Barrio Burrito Bar traces its roots to 2005, when the first barBURRITO restaurant opened in downtown Toronto. The Canadian concept has since grown to more than 400 locations. The U.S. business entered the market in 2020 and rebranded from BurritoBar to Barrio Burrito Bar in 2024 as part of a broader refresh of its name, logo, restaurant design and brand identity.

The company offers single-unit, multi-unit and Master Franchise opportunities. Its standard franchise model carries a $25,000 franchise fee, a 6% royalty and a 1.5% brand fund contribution, according to its franchise information. Estimated investment for a standard restaurant ranges from approximately $423,000 to $733,000, excluding certain additional costs. These figures apply to the standard franchise model and do not represent the specific terms of the Nevada Master Franchise agreement.

Restaurants generally range from 1,200 to 1,800 square feet, with inline, end-cap and freestanding formats available, including locations with drive-thru options. The concept focuses on made-to-order Tex-Mex, including burritos, tacos, bowls, fresh salsas and signature menu items such as Extreme Fries and Bang-Bang Shrimp.

The Nevada expansion comes as the brand continues adding restaurants through its existing franchise territories. Recent openings have included locations in Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas and New Jersey, expanding the company’s physical presence across several U.S. markets.

Barrio Burrito Bar has also pursued international franchise development, including Master Franchise agreements for the UAE and Punjab, India, as it builds on its Canadian base and expands its franchise-led model across new markets.
