Walfinch Launches Brentwood Franchise, Strengthens UK Growth Push

Date:

UK-based home care franchise Walfinch has expanded its network with the launch of a new franchise operation in Brentwood and Chelmsford, marking another step in the brand’s steady national growth strategy.

The new territory is being led by franchisee Rita Patel, who brings over two decades of experience in banking into the care sector. The move reflects a broader trend of professionals transitioning into home care entrepreneurship, attracted by both the sector’s resilience and its social impact.

Patel’s entry into the business was driven by personal inspiration and the opportunity to combine operational expertise with a purpose-led model. “It’s a big step from banking to care, so I invested in a Walfinch home care franchise to combine my business talents with Walfinch’s experience,” she said.

The Brentwood launch will deliver a full spectrum of domiciliary care services, ranging from companionship and daily support to more complex health-related care. The business has already onboarded an experienced Registered Manager with over two decades in health and social care, positioning the operation for an early rollout of services.

A key differentiator in Walfinch’s model is its focus on “active care,” which goes beyond traditional home support. As part of the launch, the Brentwood franchise has introduced local “Thrive Clubs”, free, community-based sessions offering exercise and social engagement for seniors. These initiatives are designed to improve both physical and mental wellbeing while also building grassroots awareness of care services.

The expansion aligns with Walfinch’s broader positioning as a premium, activity-led home care provider. The company emphasizes extending “healthspan” rather than simply maintaining daily living, integrating wellness, mobility, and community engagement into its care offering.

Founded by CEO Amrit Dhaliwal, a former care franchisee himself, Walfinch has been scaling its franchise network across the UK with a structured support system that includes training, regulatory guidance, and ongoing business coaching. The model requires an investment of approximately £110,000–£120,000 and is designed to offer both single-unit and multi-territory growth opportunities.

The latest Brentwood opening comes amid rising demand for home-based care services in the UK, driven by an ageing population and increasing preference for care at home. Walfinch has been actively adding new franchisees, with recent reports indicating continued network expansion and improved franchisee performance through targeted support initiatives.

With its blend of community engagement, wellness-led programming, and franchise scalability, Walfinch’s Brentwood launch underscores the evolving role of home care businesses, not just as service providers, but as active participants in local health ecosystems.
