YouMeSushi Steps Up UK Rollout with New Sites, Franchise Push

Date:

UK-based sushi franchise YouMeSushi is accelerating its nationwide rollout, confirming a series of new site openings alongside an active franchise recruitment drive as it builds on a 30-store estate.

The brand will open a new outlet on Upper Street in Angel, Islington, in May, with additional locations lined up in Canterbury, Wandsworth, and Milton Keynes in the coming weeks.

These launches follow recent openings in London Victoria, Chatham, and Watford, underlining the company’s ongoing expansion momentum across key UK markets.

Founded in 2008, YouMeSushi has grown into one of the UK’s early high-street sushi concepts and currently operates 30 outlets nationwide. The company began franchising in 2021 and has since scaled through a mix of company-owned and franchise-led openings.

The brand has outlined ambitious growth plans, targeting a significantly larger estate in the near term, supported by a pipeline of new locations and increasing franchise participation.

As part of its next phase, YouMeSushi is inviting applications from new franchisees, including multi-unit operators. The company said partners benefit from a “proven business model with full support and training,” aimed at enabling scalable growth.  The group added that recent openings have been driven by existing franchise partners, reflecting confidence in the model and appetite for multi-site expansion.

The upcoming Islington outlet will feature an eat-in format designed for local demand while maintaining strong delivery integration through platforms such as Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Tim Circus, Franchise Development Director, said: “Our new Islington store will be thoughtfully designed to appeal to the local community.” He added: “Customers are welcome to visit or collect a meal to share.”

The expansion comes amid continued growth in the UK’s food-to-go and sushi segments, where demand for fresh, convenient formats has been rising. YouMeSushi is positioning itself as a scalable, franchise-driven concept within this space, leveraging both dine-in and delivery channels.

With multiple openings scheduled and franchise recruitment underway, the brand is aiming to strengthen its footprint across London and regional UK markets while accelerating toward its longer-term expansion targets.
