Global Franchise Brands Eye India Entry at Franchise India Expo 2026

Date:

From iconic American restaurant chains and Australian wellness retailers to Spanish fragrance brands and Vietnamese café concepts, international companies turned Franchise India Expo 2026 into a major launchpad for India expansion ambitions.

The two-day Delhi expo emerged as one of Asia’s biggest franchise networking platforms, attracting global brands exploring master franchise partnerships, regional expansion deals, and long-term entry into India’s booming consumer market.

India’s rapidly expanding franchise economy took centre stage at Franchise India Expo 2026, held at Yashobhoomi, India International Convention & Expo Centre in Delhi on May 16-17, 2026. The event witnessed a sharp rise in international participation, with overseas brands across food service, wellness, fitness, fragrance, café culture, and lifestyle retail actively exploring India as their next growth destination.

Organised by Franchise India, the expo brought together more than 500 brands, thousands of investors, HNIs, franchise seekers, entrepreneurs, and business leaders under one roof. Spread across dedicated international pavilions and sector-focused zones, the event hosted investor matchmaking sessions, franchise conferences, networking forums, startup showcases, and expansion-focused business meetings.

International Stalls Become Key Attraction at the Expo

One of the biggest highlights of the event was the strong presence of international stalls and global brand showcases, many of which witnessed heavy investor footfall throughout the two-day exhibition. Delegations and companies from North America, Australia, Spain, Vietnam, Oman, and GCC markets used the platform to present their franchise models, operational systems, menu innovations, wellness concepts, and retail expansion strategies to Indian investors.

From live tastings and café demonstrations to one-on-one franchise meetings and expansion presentations, the international pavilion brought a distinctly global atmosphere to the expo floor.

Vietnam-based Three O’Clock Café emerged as one of the standout café concepts at the event. Known for its modern urban café culture and scalable coffee franchise model, the brand showcased its premium beverage offerings and contemporary café format to Indian investors exploring fast-growing café opportunities.

Australian café chain Stellarossa also attracted strong interest with its premium coffee-led dining model and community-focused café experience. The brand highlighted its flexible franchise structure and localisation-driven expansion strategy suited for India’s evolving café and brunch culture.

The wellness and fitness category also drew attention with the participation of international fitness operator EasyGym, reflecting the rising global interest in India’s organised health and fitness sector. With India witnessing rapid growth in urban wellness consumption, the presence of global gym and fitness brands added another dimension to the expo’s international participation.

Another crowd-puller was Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken, the iconic American fried chicken chain globally recognised for its Southern-style spicy fried chicken recipes and franchise-led expansion model. The brand’s participation highlighted how global comfort-food and experiential dining players are increasingly evaluating India for long-term expansion.

International Restaurant Chains Explore India’s Dining Boom

Among the key food and beverage participants were UNO Pizzeria & Grill, Giordano’s Pizza, Kuma’s Corner, Guac Mexi Grill, Chaska, S’MAC, Harlem Shake, and Australia’s The Pancake Parlour. Together, these brands represented a wide mix of casual dining, QSR, Tex-Mex, burger, café, dessert, and experiential food formats currently gaining traction globally.

Chicago-headquartered UNO Pizzeria & Grill, globally credited with pioneering deep-dish pizza, used the platform to explore opportunities in India’s growing family dining and casual restaurant segment.

“We see tremendous potential in India’s growing casual dining and family restaurant sector. Indian consumers are increasingly open to global dining experiences, and we are excited to explore opportunities in this dynamic market,” said Chuck Buttiglieri, President, UNO Pizzeria & Grill.

Another major Chicago-based pizza player, Giordano’s Pizza, also generated strong curiosity among Indian investors. Represented by Tom Fife, Franchise Director, the iconic brand is internationally known for its stuffed deep-dish pizzas and long-standing legacy in the American casual dining industry.

Kuma’s Corner, famous for its gourmet burgers and rock-music-inspired dining culture, also attracted investor interest for its differentiated experiential restaurant format.

“India has an incredibly energetic food culture and a young audience looking for unique dining experiences. We believe there is strong potential for experiential restaurant concepts like ours in the Indian market,” said Ron Cain, Founder, Kuma’s Corner.

Canadian fast-casual brand Guac Mexi Grill also emerged among the notable international entrants at the expo. Founded in 2016, the brand has built a strong presence through its health-focused Tex-Mex offerings including burritos, bowls, tacos, salads, and fresh ingredient-led menu formats. The company held expansion discussions around potential franchise partnerships in India.

Other participating concepts such as S’MAC, known for its gourmet macaroni-and-cheese offerings, Harlem Shake with its American-style burgers and shakes, and Australian dining concept The Pancake Parlour also explored expansion conversations and franchise opportunities during the event.

The participation of multiple American and international restaurant brands reflected India’s growing importance in the global food service landscape, especially as consumer demand shifts toward experiential dining, premium café culture, global cuisines, and organised QSR formats.

Wellness, Fragrance & Lifestyle Brands Expand the Conversation

While food brands dominated attention, Franchise India Expo 2026 also highlighted how international companies beyond F&B are increasingly looking at India for long-term expansion.

One of the notable international participants was Spain-based fragrance and lifestyle brand Equivalenza, represented by David Elizalde, Chief Growth Officer (CGO). Known for its premium yet affordable fragrances, home scents, and body care products, the company explored opportunities in India’s fast-growing beauty, fragrance, and lifestyle retail market.

Equivalenza has built a strong international retail footprint through franchise-led expansion across Europe and other global markets, making India a strategic opportunity for future growth.

The expo also saw participation from Lauren Ashleigh, representing Elite Supplements Australia, one of Australia’s fastest-growing sports nutrition and supplement retail chains. Operating more than 130 locations across Australia along with international expansion into Singapore and Dubai, the company explored opportunities in India’s growing wellness and fitness retail sector.

The presence of brands such as Equivalenza, EasyGym, Elite Supplements Australia, and other international wellness-focused companies highlighted how India is no longer being viewed only as a food franchise market, but increasingly as a high-potential destination for beauty, wellness, fitness, fragrance, and experiential lifestyle retail.

Franchise India Strengthens Its Global Positioning

According to the official event platform, Franchise India Expo 2026 positioned itself as a “Global Stage for Enterprise & Investment,” connecting international franchisors with Indian entrepreneurs, investors, developers, and business operators across sectors.

Over the past two decades, Franchise India has played a major role in shaping the country’s organised franchising ecosystem through exhibitions, advisory services, investor networks, business expansion platforms, and global franchise partnerships. Its annual expos have evolved into some of Asia’s largest networking destinations for franchising and retail growth.

India Emerges as the Next Big Global Franchise Destination

The strong international participation at Franchise India Expo 2026 reinforced India’s growing position as one of the world’s most attractive franchise markets. From restaurant chains and café brands to wellness operators, fragrance companies, and lifestyle retailers, global businesses are increasingly looking at India as a scalable, long-term expansion hub driven by rising disposable incomes, urbanisation, organised retail growth, digital adoption, and a young consumption-driven population.
