McDonald’s UK & Ireland has appointed Lee Homer as Chief Restaurant Officer. Homer brings extensive experience in restaurant and retail operations, having held senior roles at McDonald’s Nordics, Terra Firma, Waitrose and PizzaExpress.
Homer will lead restaurant operations and help shape the company’s operational strategy across its UK and Ireland network, with a focus on restaurant performance, customer experience and operational excellence.
The appointment comes as McDonald’s continues expanding its franchise-led estate. The business operates more than 1,450 restaurants across the UK and Ireland, with franchisees running more than 85% of the restaurants. McDonald’s has also announced plans to invest £1 billion in the UK over four years, including more than 200 new restaurants.
In Ireland, the company is planning up to 25 additional restaurants over five years, supported by a €150 million investment.
Homer previously served as Chief Operating Officer of McDonald’s Nordics, overseeing operations across Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. He has also held senior roles with Waitrose and PizzaExpress, giving him experience across retail, hospitality and large-scale restaurant operations.
His appointment places operational execution at the centre of McDonald’s next phase of network growth, as the company works with franchisees to expand its restaurant footprint while maintaining consistent service and customer standards.
