The UK nursery franchise network added four locations between August and October, taking its nationwide footprint to 80 settings, while an existing franchisee expanded operations in Enfield.
UK-based Monkey Puzzle Day Nurseries has reached a milestone of 80 settings across its network following four new nursery openings between August and October 2026. The latest additions strengthen the group’s presence across the UK and reflect continued expansion through its franchise model.
The four new nurseries opened in Colchester, Radlett, St Albans and Upminster. Franchisees Manjit and Sandeep Sandhu opened Monkey Puzzle Colchester in August, followed by Hassan Alquraini, who launched the Radlett setting in September.

October brought two further additions, with Tanvi and Anubhav Bhagat opening Monkey Puzzle St Albans, while Sam El-Labban and Laila Ibrahim welcomed their first children at Monkey Puzzle Upminster.
The expansion has also extended beyond new locations. Existing franchisee Nitish Patel has enlarged Monkey Puzzle Enfield by opening a dedicated preschool space in the building next door, increasing the setting’s capacity and facilities.
Monkey Puzzle Day Nurseries managing director Grace Cole said the recent openings reflected the collective efforts of the head office, franchisees and nursery teams.
As the network expands, the company is focusing on maintaining operational support for franchisees and ensuring that new locations meet its standards for childcare and business management.
Cole said: “As we grow, it’s critical every franchisee receives the right level of expertise at every stage of their journey. For us, it’s about building strong, sustainable businesses that provide the best possible start for children, rather than just a series of increasing numbers on a spreadsheet.”
The latest expansion also highlights the role of existing franchisees in driving network growth. Sam El-Labban, who previously opened Monkey Puzzle Purley, has added Upminster as his second nursery.
He credited the franchisor’s support, particularly in identifying a suitable property and managing the practical requirements of opening another setting. “Having been through the process with our first setting in Purley, we know how valuable that support is. Being part of Monkey Puzzle feels like joining a family rather than simply buying into a franchise,” El-Labban said.
The company is scheduled to bring its franchise network together for its annual conference in November at The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Gerrards Cross. The event will provide an opportunity for franchisees to exchange operational insights, share experiences and discuss the network’s future development.
With four new openings and an existing franchisee expanding operations, Monkey Puzzle’s latest milestone highlights the contribution of both new and established franchise partners to its UK growth strategy.
