Siguler Guff Invests $40M to Power Trimex Foods’ India Expansion

Date:

Global private equity firm Siguler Guff has invested $40 million (approximately ₹380 crore) in Trimex Foods, marking a significant growth capital infusion into India’s organised restaurant franchise sector. The deal represents Trimex’s first institutional funding round and is aimed at accelerating its next phase of expansion.

Founded in 2010 and headquartered in New Delhi, Trimex Foods is a multi-brand franchise operator that manages and scales international food and beverage brands in India. The company is the master franchise partner for globally recognised chains including Chili’s Grill & Bar, PAUL, and Cinnabon. It currently operates more than 50 outlets across over a dozen cities in India, spanning casual dining, café, and bakery formats.

The fresh capital will be deployed to expand Trimex’s footprint across key metro and Tier I markets, strengthen its existing brand portfolio, and introduce new international restaurant concepts to the Indian market. The company is expected to deepen its presence in high-growth consumption clusters, while also investing in supply chain efficiencies and customer experience.

The investment reflects increasing investor confidence in India’s food services industry, which continues to benefit from rising disposable incomes, urbanisation, and a growing preference for global dining experiences among younger consumers.

Commenting on the transaction, Shaun Khubchandani, Partner and Co-Portfolio Manager at Siguler Guff, said: “India’s food services sector is undergoing a structural shift, with consumers increasingly gravitating toward globally recognised dining experiences. Trimex has built a scalable multi-brand platform with strong execution capabilities and a loyal customer base.”

He added that the firm sees significant headroom for growth in the premium and casual dining segments, particularly through experienced franchise operators with proven operational models.

A spokesperson for Trimex Foods stated: “We are delighted to partner with Siguler Guff as we enter our next phase of growth. Their global expertise and long-term investment approach align well with our vision of building a leading platform for international F&B brands in India.”

The company highlighted that the partnership will also support the onboarding of additional global brands looking to enter India through an established franchise platform.

Professional services firm Ernst & Young (EY) acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Trimex Foods on the transaction.

Siguler Guff manages over $18 billion in assets globally and has a track record of investing in small- and mid-market companies across sectors, including consumer, healthcare, and business services, with a growing focus on emerging markets like India.

The investment comes amid rising deal activity in India’s QSR and casual dining ecosystem, as private equity firms look to back scalable franchise-led platforms. With increasing brand consciousness and evolving consumption patterns, international restaurant chains are expanding their presence in India through local partners such as Trimex.
