7-Eleven Showcases Sustainability and Community Impact in 2025 Report

Date:

Convenience giant 7-Eleven has published its 2025 Impact Report, detailing the company’s progress in community engagement, environmental stewardship and responsible retailing as it continues to strengthen its long-term sustainability strategy, Good Made Easy. The report outlines initiatives across three core pillars, People, Planet and Products, while highlighting the role of franchise owners, employees, suppliers and customers in advancing the company’s environmental and social commitments.

Among the report’s biggest achievements is the donation of more than US$14 million to support 113 local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals across the United States during 2025. The funds were raised through the company’s 34th Miracle Tournament and Celebration Dinner, year-round fundraising at Speedway stores, and seasonal campaigns at participating 7-Eleven and Stripes locations. The initiative reflects the retailer’s long-standing commitment to investing in the communities where it operates.

The report also highlights progress in reducing environmental impact through packaging redesigns and energy efficiency. During 2025, 7-Eleven redesigned packaging for its 7-Select Seeds & Nuts range, reducing plastic consumption by approximately 10,400 pounds based on annual sales volumes. The company also continued replacing ageing HVAC systems across its store network with high-efficiency models to improve energy performance and reduce operational emissions.

Beyond these initiatives, the convenience retailer said it continues to expand the use of sustainable packaging across its private-label portfolio, improve supply chain efficiency and encourage responsible consumption as part of its broader environmental strategy. The company’s sustainability roadmap aligns with the long-term environmental goals of parent company Seven & i Holdings while supporting business resilience across its retail operations.

“Being a good neighbour means making a positive impact on the communities we serve and the planet we share,” said Treasa Bowers, Executive Vice President and Chief People and Sustainability Officer at 7-Eleven, Inc. “That commitment comes to life through Good Made Easy, our strategic approach to building thriving communities, protecting the environment and promoting responsible consumption in ways that support a more sustainable and socially responsible future.”

Bowers added that collaboration remains central to the company’s sustainability agenda. “Meaningful progress is built through collaboration. Together with our franchise owners, customers, suppliers, community partners and employees, we’re creating positive change while identifying new opportunities to make an even greater impact.”

For franchise operators, the report underscores how sustainability is becoming increasingly integrated into business operations. From energy-efficient stores and waste reduction to community fundraising and responsible sourcing, 7-Eleven continues to position environmental and social responsibility as part of its long-term franchise growth strategy.

Founded in 1927, 7-Eleven is the world’s largest convenience store chain. Headquartered in Irving, Texas, the company operates, franchises and licenses more than 86,000 stores across 19 countries and regions, including over 13,000 locations in the United States and Canada. A subsidiary of Japan-based Seven & i Holdings Co., Ltd., the retailer’s network spans company-operated and franchised stores, making franchising a cornerstone of its global expansion strategy. Alongside its flagship 7-Eleven stores, the company also operates brands including Speedway, Stripes, Laredo Taco Company and Raise the Roost Chicken & Biscuits.
