Australian frozen-yoghurt brand Yo-Chi has opened its first UK and European venue in London, using the launch to test whether its self-service, experience-led model can translate from Australia to the UK.
The Melbourne-founded brand opened at 81–85 Notting Hill Gate on August 20, following its first international expansion into Singapore in 2025. The London venue spans more than 2,000 square feet across two floors and can accommodate more than 120 guests, making it Yo-Chi’s largest location globally.
The format allows customers to build their own frozen-yoghurt bowls, choosing from nine flavours and more than 30 toppings, before paying by weight. The site also features a DJ booth and Yo-Chi’s signature strawberry-shaped disco ball, positioning the store as a social destination rather than simply a dessert outlet.
Yo-Chi CEO Brooke Rodger said the UK opening is an important test of the brand’s Australian model. “The biggest thing for us so far is having a super strong foundation before spreading our wings,” Rodger said.
The Singapore expansion helped give Yo-Chi confidence to enter London, according to co-owner and chief brand officer Oliver Allis. He said the response in Singapore demonstrated that the brand’s large-format, alcohol-free dessert concept could work beyond Australia.
Founded in 2012, Yo-Chi has grown from four venues in 2020 to more than 75 locations across Australia and Singapore. Its UK entry is the latest step in that international growth strategy.
The company is adapting the proposition for Britain rather than simply copying its Australian stores, with London-specific toppings including Candy Kittens, apple pie filling and cherry compote.
The opening has already generated major consumer interest, with reports of customers queuing for hours on launch day. For now, Yo-Chi is focused on establishing the Notting Hill operation before committing to wider UK expansion, although Allis said further London locations could follow if the first site performs well.
