Dolphin Bakery Strengthens UAE Food Supply With 3,000-Store Network

Date:

Ajman-based Dolphin Bakery has strengthened its position in the UAE’s evolving food security ecosystem by operating a fully localised bakery production and distribution network that now supplies 165 fresh products daily to more than 3,000 retailers across Dubai and the Northern Emirates.

The company said its integrated UAE-based supply chain, covering production, logistics, procurement coordination, and last-mile delivery, is designed to reduce dependence on imported finished bakery goods while ensuring fresher and faster deliveries to retailers. The operation is powered by a workforce of over 300 employees and a fleet of more than 80 delivery vehicles servicing multiple Emirates daily.

According to reports, Dolphin Bakery’s Ajman facility produces a wide portfolio that includes breads, buns, rusks, cakes, sandwiches, breakfast products, savouries, and community-focused bakery items tailored for the UAE’s multicultural population, including South Asian, African, Filipino, and mainstream retail consumers.

Managing Director Navas P reportedly stated that the company’s operating model was intentionally built around domestic production and localised supply efficiency, enabling the business to respond faster to market demand while supporting UAE employment and retail reliability. Operations Director Iqbal highlighted the role of the in-house fleet in maintaining delivery speed, product quality, and distribution consistency across four Emirates.

Founded in 2019, Dolphin Bakery has rapidly expanded its footprint in the UAE’s bakery and FMCG ecosystem by focusing on daily fresh baking and same-day distribution rather than relying on imported finished products. The company today services supermarkets, groceries, hypermarkets, hotel chains, cafeterias, and institutional buyers across the region.

Its expansion comes at a time when the UAE government continues to intensify efforts around supply-chain resilience and domestic food manufacturing under broader national food security initiatives. Industry experts note that the UAE still imports a significant portion of its food requirements, prompting increased investments in local food production, food-tech, logistics infrastructure, and resilient sourcing networks.

The bakery category has emerged as a key part of this localisation drive because freshness, replenishment speed, and predictable daily supply are critical to retail performance. Dolphin Bakery’s proximity-led model allows retailers to reduce wastage, improve stock rotation, and maintain continuous availability of high-demand everyday bakery products.

While Dolphin Bakery currently operates primarily through a direct production-and-distribution model, its large-scale retail penetration and institutional supply network position it strongly within the UAE’s expanding foodservice and bakery ecosystem. The brand’s rapid scaling across thousands of retail touchpoints reflects the growing regional demand for locally manufactured food brands capable of supporting national food security goals.

The UAE’s bakery and café segment has also witnessed rising franchise activity in recent years, with both regional and international bakery concepts expanding through franchise and master franchise partnerships across the GCC. Dolphin Bakery’s operational scale and localisation strategy could potentially support future expansion into branded retail bakery outlets, foodservice partnerships, or franchise-led formats as the company deepens its regional footprint.
