Chinese tea franchise Molly Tea has opened its first outlet in Singapore, marking a strategic milestone as it pushes deeper into Southeast Asia, one of the world’s most competitive food and beverage markets.
Located in the heart of Orchard Central, the new 1,400 sq ft store which is capable of seating up to 40 customers, is touted as the brand’s largest retail space in Southeast Asia to date.
The Singapore debut is part of Molly Tea’s broader international rollout, which has seen the brand rapidly scale across multiple continents. Originating in Shenzhen, the chain has grown its global footprint to more than 2,000 stores spanning China, Thailand, Japan, the US, Britain, Australia and other markets.
At Orchard Central, Molly Tea has introduced a curated selection of signature offerings which includes Premium Jasmine Milk Tea, Snowy Jasmine, and Pistachio Jasmine Coconut, reflecting the brand’s focus on floral and aromatic tea blends inspired by jasmine, the flower from which its name is derived.
Molly Tea’s Singapore launch underscores a growing trend of Chinese tea chains seeking global growth beyond domestic borders. It is observed that such brands are targeting major metropolitan markets where demand for premium tea experiences continues to rise, even amid fierce competition from established local and international franchise operators.
According to local reports, a second Singapore store is slated to open by mid‑year, with franchised development expected to play an increasingly important role in Molly Tea’s regional expansion strategy.
