Mrs. Fields, TCBY Slash Franchise Fees and Royalties by 50%

Date:

Famous Brands International introduces a limited-time incentive for new franchisees, offering reduced entry costs and royalty payments for the first two years.

Famous Brands International is cutting initial franchise fees and royalties by 50% for new franchisees joining its dessert brands Mrs. Fields and TCBY, as the company looks to attract new operators and accelerate expansion across its network.

Announced on October 29, 2026, the incentive will run until December 31, 2026. Eligible new franchise owners will receive a 50% reduction in the initial franchise fee and pay half the standard royalty rate during their first two years of operation.

The initiative is designed to lower the financial barriers to franchise ownership, targeting both first-time entrepreneurs and established multi-unit operators interested in entering the bakery and frozen dessert categories.

“Our franchise owners make a significant investment when they join a brand, and they deserve a partner that is invested in their long-term success,” said Brian Mooney, Director of Operations at Famous Brands.

“We’ve seen trends come and go in the dessert category, but our brands have remained part of their communities for decades. Our goal is to help franchise owners build businesses that last, and this incentive is one way we’re making it easier for qualified operators to join us and grow with our brands,” he added.

Founded in 1977, Mrs. Fields specialises in freshly baked cookies, brownies and other bakery products. The brand operates across 24 US states and six countries, offering franchise opportunities through different retail formats, including traditional stores and kiosks.

TCBY, established in 1981, is one of the established names in the frozen yoghurt category. The brand offers soft-serve and hand-scooped frozen yoghurt and operates more than 125 franchised locations across 25 US states and five countries.

Together, Mrs. Fields and TCBY account for more than 275 franchised locations worldwide under Famous Brands International, which has a presence in markets including the US, Canada, Australia, China, Morocco, Panama, Taiwan, Qatar and the Bahamas.

According to the brands’ 2026 Franchise Disclosure Documents, the standard initial franchise fee for both concepts is $35,000. With the new incentive, eligible franchisees will pay $17,500. The estimated initial investment for a traditional Mrs. Fields store starts at approximately $309,500, while TCBY’s traditional store investment ranges from approximately $485,630 to $697,467.

The offer provides new franchisees with reduced entry costs during the initial operating period, as Famous Brands International looks to build on the international presence and established customer recognition of both dessert brands.
