Superior Tire & Auto has added its first new franchise location in more than 15 years, transitioning its corporate-operated facility at 395A Danforth Road in Scarborough into an owner-operated franchise led by veteran automotive professional Murat Mulayim.
The move marks a renewed push toward owner-operator growth for the Canadian automotive service and tire brand, which operates under Auto Service Group. Mulayim takes over the Danforth Road location with three decades of experience across the tire, automotive and retail sectors and professional experience spanning four continents.
“This shop is built around three things: customer service, competitive offerings, and convenience,” said Mulayim. “Those aren’t slogans; they are the standard I hold every visit to. Customers should leave knowing exactly what was done to their vehicle, why it mattered, and that the price was fair. The Danforth franchise provides a full range of tire, repair and maintenance services. Its tire offering includes major tire brands, precision balancing, flat repairs and seasonal tire storage, while mechanical services cover engine diagnostics, brakes, suspension, steering and exhaust repairs. Customers can also access oil changes, fluid flushes, battery testing and manufacturer-scheduled maintenance, along with digital wheel-alignment equipment designed to support vehicle safety and tire longevity.

Established in 1942, Superior Tire & Auto has built its business around tire sales, automotive repair and vehicle maintenance in Ontario. The company currently lists locations across the Greater Toronto Area and Barrie and describes itself as a Canadian-owned and operated automotive service and tire retail banner. Its services include tire sales and installation, brake repair, diagnostics, electrical work, exhaust service, fleet maintenance, oil changes, suspension, steering and wheel alignment.
Superior Tire was acquired by The Mufflerman Inc., a portfolio company of Argyle Capital Partners, in 2022. At the time of the acquisition, Superior Tire had 10 locations across the Greater Toronto Area and Barrie and was described as one of Ontario’s leading franchisors of retail tire stores and car-care centres. The Superior Tire name and operations continued as a distinct division within The Mufflerman.
The latest transition therefore represents more than a change in ownership at one location: it brings a corporate Superior Tire site into the brand’s franchise network for the first time in over 15 years. The owner-operator structure gives Mulayim direct responsibility for the Danforth operation while retaining the Superior Tire brand, systems and service offering.
The development also highlights the continued role of owner-operated models in automotive aftermarket franchising, where experienced operators can combine local management with the purchasing, branding and operational support of an established automotive network.
Superior Tire & Auto currently operates alongside other automotive brands within Auto Service Group, including The Mufflerman, EuroMechanic, Sil’s Auto Care Centre, Fleet Specialties and 4 Aces Auto Centre.
The company says it has been serving Ontario drivers since 1942 and provides warranty-approved maintenance and repair services, tire sales and installation, seasonal tire services and other automotive maintenance solutions across its network.
