Riser Fitness has signed a 127-unit development agreement with Xponential Fitness to expand Club Pilates, marking the largest franchise deal in the company’s history.
The agreement will see Riser Fitness open 127 new Club Pilates studios over the next five years across California, Idaho, Minnesota, Nevada, Oregon and Washington. The deal also grants the franchisee rights to all remaining available territories in these states, significantly strengthening its regional control.
“This is the largest in Xponential’s history,” said Mike Nuzzo, Chief Development Officer, Xponential Fitness, noting that Riser Fitness has been “an exceptional franchisee group and operator, bringing Pilates to so many communities.”
Riser Fitness, backed by affiliates of Fortress Investment Group, currently operates more than 110 studios across eight U.S. states. Following the agreement, the company will hold over 340 licenses globally, reinforcing its position as the largest franchisee within Xponential Fitness’ system.
The development highlights the continued momentum of the franchised boutique fitness model, where large multi-unit operators are driving expansion. Club Pilates, one of Xponential’s core brands, operates on a membership-based franchise model and has grown to more than 1,400 studios worldwide.
Commenting on the deal, Jeffrey Nash, Co-CEO of Riser Fitness, said: “With this new deal Riser Fitness’ trajectory has been unmatched. We look forward to growing Club Pilates even more and bringing Club Pilates to a global audience.”
In addition to its U.S. expansion, Riser Fitness is building its international franchise presence, including a master franchise operation in Mexico City and planned development in Australia.
The agreement reflects a broader shift in franchising, with brands increasingly partnering with experienced, well-capitalised operators to accelerate development and scale across multiple territories.
