Dodo Pizza, the technology‑driven global pizza chain under the Dodo Brands group, has begun its Spanish expansion with the grand opening of its first outlet in Sabadell, Catalonia, marking the company’s entry into one of Europe’s key quick service restaurant markets.
The Sabadell outlet is part of a long‑term growth plan for the Catalonia region and represents another milestone for Dodo Brands, which reported more than $1.8 billion in revenue in 2025, up 22 % year-on-year across its global operations. The pizzeria opened with community engagement activities and special promotions, signalling the brand’s intent to build strong local awareness.
The launch is the first step in Dodo Pizza’s plan to establish up to 50 restaurants in Catalonia by 2035. The company has signed an Area Development Agreement for the region and aims to open three to four restaurants by the end of 2026, initially focusing on the Barcelona area to build operational and delivery scale. From the third year of its Spanish rollout, Dodo Pizza expects to add up to four new sitesannually in and around Barcelona.
“We have signed an Area Development Agreement for the region and see strong potential to scale the brand here in a disciplined and sustainable way,” said Ilya Kholodnov, Head of International Marketing and Sales at Dodo Brands. “At the same time, we are actively exploring opportunities to work with exclusive partners in other regions of Spain as part of our long‑term market development strategy,” he added.
The menu at Sabadell has been tailored for Spain, featuring 18 pizza varieties, 10 snacks, and two desserts, with seasonal items planned. Some offerings have been created specifically for the market, including garlic cheese rolls and a goat cheese pizza.
Founded in 2011, Dodo Pizza now operates nearly 1,600 restaurants across more than 26 countries, combining international expansion with a technology‑first approach that integrates digital ordering, kitchen operations, and delivery analytics.
