A former executive of Barry’s has signed a multi-unit franchise agreement to expand Yoga Joint into New York City, as the Florida-based boutique fitness brand accelerates its national growth through franchising.
Fitness industry veteran Adam Shane has secured development rights to open more than 15 Yoga Joint studios across the New York metropolitan area over the next several years. The first locations are expected to launch in Manhattan and Brooklyn, marking the brand’s entry into one of the world’s most competitive boutique fitness markets.
Founded in South Florida by Paige Held, Yoga Joint blends heated vinyasa yoga with strength-based training formats. The concept operates studios equipped with infrared heat technology and offers signature classes such as Flow and FIIT, combining yoga sequences with functional strength training.
The company currently operates a network of studios in Florida and has recently begun expanding through franchise partnerships in new markets across the United States. The brand is targeting experienced multi-unit operators to drive its next phase of growth.
Yoga Joint has also attracted backing from investors linked to North Castle Partners, including managing partner Jon Canarick, who joined the company as an investor to support its national expansion strategy.
Shane previously spent more than a decade helping scale Barry’s globally and said the Yoga Joint concept offers a broad consumer appeal by combining yoga, strength training and community-driven studio experiences.
The New York rollout is expected to play a key role in Yoga Joint’s franchise development pipeline, as the brand looks to build a larger U.S. footprint through multi-unit franchise agreements in major metropolitan markets.
