Black Sheep Coffee is entering Hampshire for the first time after signing a development agreement with franchise partners Sumeet Singh Dhillon, Ankit Patel, Brinderjeet Gill and Kalveer Dhillon to open a minimum of 16 stores across the county over the next five years.
The rollout will target locations including Southampton and Portsmouth, as well as other high-footfall areas across Hampshire. The planned estate could include high-street cafés, shopping-centre units, retail parks, roadside locations and drive-thrus, giving the franchise partners flexibility to develop the brand across different formats.
The agreement is significant for Black Sheep Coffee’s UK franchise strategy, with Hampshire described as one of the last remaining franchise territories in the UK and Ireland. The company has been expanding rapidly through multi-unit franchise partnerships, with more than 120 UK stores reported by mid-2026 and more than 300 additional UK stores committed through Multi-Unit Development Agreements.
Founded in London, Black Sheep Coffee has built its proposition around specialty-grade 100% Robusta coffee, with the company saying about 85% of its coffee sales are specialty-grade Robusta. Its franchise model is aimed primarily at experienced multi-unit or multi-brand operators, with a minimum commitment of 10 locations for UK franchisees.
The Hampshire expansion adds another multi-unit development territory to Black Sheep Coffee’s growing UK franchise network as the brand targets 500 stores globally by 2028.
The company currently has franchise operations across the UK and has also expanded internationally into the US and GCC, while its recent strategy has included further franchise development in Ireland.
