German kitchen brand Nolte Küchen is targeting up to 100 franchise showrooms across the UK, with Managing Director Chris Rushby outlining plans to open 10 to 15 locations annually as the company accelerates its franchise-led expansion.
Nolte Küchen UK has signed nine franchise partners as it seeks to expand its retail footprint and strengthen its presence in the UK kitchen market. The long-term ambition is to establish between 50 and 100 franchise showrooms, complementing the brand’s existing company-owned stores and independent dealer network.
The company launched its UK franchise model in 2024, with the first franchise showrooms opening in 2025. Five locations opened during the initial rollout, while further openings in Hawkhurst, Kent, and Wakefield were planned for the second half of 2026.
Under the model, franchisees are expected to commit to opening three showrooms over five years. Nolte is targeting entrepreneurs, kitchen retail specialists and existing franchise operators, including multi-unit investors looking to develop several locations.
Franchise partners receive support with showroom design, product training, marketing, logistics and operations, alongside access to Nolte’s established kitchen portfolio and supply infrastructure. The model allows local operators to focus on sales, customer service and showroom management while benefiting from the German manufacturer’s brand and product expertise.
The franchise rollout is designed to expand Nolte’s reach in areas where the brand has limited representation while minimising direct competition with existing independent dealers. Its UK network includes approximately 120 independent dealers and 12 company-owned showrooms, providing an established foundation for further growth.
Nolte has strengthened its UK retail presence through acquisitions, including In-toto and The Kitchen Group in 2021. The company has also expanded its contracts business, supplying kitchens for residential developments and commercial projects.
Founded in Germany in 1958, Nolte Küchen manufactures kitchen furniture and operates internationally through retail and distribution partners. Its UK franchise strategy forms part of a broader effort to increase showroom coverage through a combination of company-owned stores, independent dealers and franchise partnerships.
With nine franchise partners signed and an annual target of 10 to 15 new locations, Rushby’s expansion strategy will focus on converting franchise commitments into operational showrooms as Nolte works towards its longer-term UK network target.
