Philippines-based coffee chain Pickup Coffee is seeking fresh capital through the issuance of convertible notes worth up to $8 million, as the fast-growing brand looks to strengthen operations and fund further expansion.
According to industry reports, the funding round could involve participation from existing investor Venturi Partners along with venture capital firm Antler. The convertible note offering may also precede a broader fundraising round that could potentially bring $20 million to $40 million in additional equity financing.
Founded in 2022 by entrepreneurs Diego Lorenzo and Jamie Fernandez, Pickup Coffee began as a delivery-first coffee startup before expanding into a network of compact takeaway kiosks and pickup stores across the Philippines. The company has positioned itself in the value-driven coffee segment, offering espresso-based drinks and flavoured beverages such as ube latte and pistachio milk drinks at lower price points than traditional café chains.
The brand has scaled rapidly in just a few years and now operates hundreds of outlets across the Philippines, with international expansion also underway, including a growing presence in Mexico.
The proposed funding comes as the company looks to strengthen operations and sustain its rapid store rollout, amid rising competition in the affordable coffee segment across Southeast Asia.
Pickup Coffee has also begun promoting franchise opportunities, announcing its participation in the Franchise Asia Philippines International Franchise Expo 2026, scheduled to take place at the SMX Convention Centre Manila from April 23–26. The move signals a potential new phase of expansion as the brand engages prospective franchise partners.
