Townhouse, the premium nail salon brand, is strengthening its U.S. expansion strategy with a franchise leadership team bringing more than 70 years of combined franchise, multi-unit and consumer-brand experience.
Founded by Juanita Huber-Millet in 2018, Townhouse has grown to more than 45 salons across Europe and the U.S. The brand is now targeting experienced multi-unit franchise operators to accelerate its U.S. footprint, particularly those with backgrounds in quick-service restaurants (QSR), hospitality and other high-frequency consumer businesses.
Townhouse CEO Jonathan Millet said the majority of the company’s franchise owners globally come from QSR or hospitality backgrounds and that the brand is already attracting operators with similar experience in the U.S.
“Our operators deserve a leadership team that speaks their language and understands the tools needed to scale a sophisticated franchise brand while maintaining consistency and top-tier guest experiences across every location,” said Millet.
The company’s U.S. franchise support structure includes four senior executives with experience spanning franchise development, multi-unit operations, marketing and customer growth.
Joe Lewis, U.S. Franchise Development Advisor, brings more than 25 years of franchise development experience to Townhouse. Lewis is a former CEO of Smoothie King, Famous Brands International, the parent company of Mrs. Fields and TCBY, and Smalls Sliders. At Townhouse, he is supporting expansion across key U.S. markets and working with experienced multi-unit operators looking to diversify beyond traditional QSR.
Jonathan Cole, U.S. Franchisee Support Director, brings more than 30 years of franchise and licensed operations experience at Starbucks across Europe and the Middle East. During his career with Starbucks, he was involved in operations spanning more than 1,000 locations. At Townhouse, he works directly with franchise partners to support operational performance and growth.
Jessica Bouscarle, Head of Franchise Development, previously worked with global coffee chain Black Sheep Coffee. She leads franchise growth and partner selection across the U.S. and international markets, working with prospective multi-unit operators through qualification and development while helping identify new market opportunities.
Meanwhile, Luke Tuckey, Marketing & Customer Director, brings more than 15 years of experience working with brands including The Body Shop and Franchise Brands plc. His remit includes customer acquisition, CRM, digital marketing and brand growth for both company-owned salons and franchise locations.
The appointments reflect Townhouse’s strategy of bringing a QSR-style franchise infrastructure into the fragmented premium nail salon category. Rather than pursuing rapid franchisee recruitment, the company says it is looking to work with a select group of experienced multi-unit operators capable of developing multiple locations.
Townhouse’s leadership is positioning the brand’s standardized operating model and proprietary technology as key elements of its franchise proposition. The company has also built a head-office team of more than 90 professionals across operations, technology, training, marketing and customer experience.
Founder Juanita Huber-Millet launched Townhouse after working across global fashion platforms and has since developed the business into a major premium nail salon platform. CEO Jonathan Millet brings a private-equity and multi-unit operations background, with experience investing in and scaling businesses across hospitality, healthcare and other service-based sectors.
The company is now seeking to translate that operating experience into its next phase of U.S. growth, with its leadership team focused on attracting franchise partners capable of scaling the brand while maintaining consistent service standards.
For Townhouse, the strategy represents a deliberate attempt to bring the systems, operational discipline and multi-unit expertise common in established QSR franchising into the premium beauty market.
The company is currently offering U.S. franchise opportunities through townhousebeauty.com.
