Tutor Doctor has been shortlisted for Franchisor of the Year at the 2026 National Tutoring Awards, following a year of significant investment in its UK franchise network, technology infrastructure and education partnerships.
The recognition comes as the tutoring franchise continues to evolve beyond traditional private tuition, with schools, local authorities and alternative provision settings now accounting for the majority of its UK business.
Over the past three years, Tutor Doctor’s Schools Delivery Programme has transformed the franchise model, with education partnerships now generating 75% of UK revenue. The shift has enabled franchisees to diversify their businesses, secure recurring institutional contracts and respond to increasing demand for targeted educational support.
The operational changes have also delivered strong commercial results. Tutor Doctor reported a 29% year-on-year increase in revenue across its UK network and a 23% rise in tuition hours delivered over the past 12 months, allowing the business to support a record number of students.
The company has backed its expansion with investment in safeguarding procedures, compliance systems, recruitment tools and reporting platforms designed to help franchisees manage school and local authority contracts more efficiently while reducing administrative workloads.
“The education sector has changed considerably in recent years and our franchisees have adapted alongside it,” said Frank Milner, Global President of Tutor Doctor. “The growth of our school and local authority partnerships has created opportunities that simply didn’t exist a few years ago.”
Milner credited the network’s collaborative approach for its recent performance. “One of the strengths of the network has been the willingness of franchisees to share knowledge and embrace new opportunities,” he said. “The results we’ve seen over the past year are a reflection of that collective effort.”
The Franchisor of the Year category recognises franchisors demonstrating excellence in franchisee support, innovation and business performance. Tutor Doctor said the nomination reflects continued investment in franchise support systems, technology and operational infrastructure, alongside sustained expansion of its education partnership model.

The winners of the 5th National Tutoring Awards will be announced at a black-tie ceremony at London’s Royal Lancaster Hotel on 3 July 2026.
