Inditex Posts Strong Year as Zara and Sister Brands Fuel Global Expansion

Date:

Inditex, the Spanish fashion group that owns Zara, has reported strong sales and profit growth, underlining the resilience of its global retail model despite ongoing economic pressures across key markets.

The company posted annual sales of approximately €39.9 billion for fiscal 2025, marking a 3.2 percent year-on-year increase, while net profit rose about 6 percent to roughly €6.2 billion, continuing a run of record financial results for the world’s largest fashion retailer.

Inditex also reported a strong start to the current financial year, with sales rising around 9 percent in constant currency between early February and early March 2026, reflecting sustained demand for its brands across global markets.

Chief Executive Officer Óscar García Maceiras said the company’s performance was driven by the strength of its integrated retail model, efficient supply chain and the ability to quickly adapt collections to evolving consumer preferences.

The group continues to expand its global store network while strengthening its omnichannel capabilities. Although Inditex operates most outlets directly, franchise and joint-venture partnerships remain an important part of its international expansion strategy, particularly in regions such as the Middle East, India and parts of Southeast Asia, where local partners help operate stores while adhering to the company’s global brand and operational standards.

Inditex operates a broad portfolio of fashion brands, led by Zara and including labels such as Pull&Bear, Bershka, Massimo Dutti, Stradivarius and Oysho. Together, the brands operate thousands of stores across more than 200 markets worldwide, supported by a growing digital commerce network.

Looking ahead, the company plans to invest around €2.3 billion in 2026 to upgrade stores, enhance logistics infrastructure and strengthen its digital platforms. Inditex is also continuing its strategy of opening larger flagship stores while closing smaller locations, with overall retail space expected to grow by roughly 5 percent this year.

Founded by Spanish entrepreneur Amancio Ortega, Inditex remains a dominant force in global fashion retail, leveraging its multi-brand portfolio, rapid supply chain and international partner network to drive continued growth.
