Jollibee Partners With DreamWorks’ ‘Forgotten Island’ for Global Movie Tie-In

Date:

Jollibee has partnered with DreamWorks Animation for the theatrical release of Forgotten Island, bringing the Filipino-founded restaurant brand into a global entertainment collaboration built around friendship, family and Filipino-inspired storytelling.

The partnership marks Jollibee’s first-ever global collaboration with DreamWorks Animation and connects the brand’s food and restaurant experience with the animated film, which is scheduled to arrive in theaters on September 25, 2026.

The collaboration will feature market-specific activations, including themed meal bundles and limited-edition Friendship Charm Bracelets. In North America, where the campaign launched September 16, Jollibee is offering Forgotten Island-themed two-piece Chickenjoy and Chicken Sandwich box meals, as well as a six-piece Chickenjoy Bucket Bundle. The meals come with collectible bracelet charms and movie sticker sheets.

The North American campaign also includes a limited-edition Calamansi Lemonade, a retro 1990s-inspired Jollibee x Forgotten Island apparel collection, immersive restaurant takeovers and a sweepstakes featuring travel prizes, including a grand-prize trip to the Philippines. The collectible series includes eight standard bracelet charms featuring Jollibee and film characters, alongside a rare “Golden Bucket” charm.

“Great stories and great food both have a way of bringing people together,” said David Beal, Jollibee Group Global Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Digital Marketing. “With DreamWorks Animation’s Forgotten Island, we’re inviting friends and families to celebrate the joy of friendship, from watching the film to sharing a delicious Jollibee meal together.”

The film follows lifelong friends Jo and Raissa, who are transported to the fantastical island of Nakali, where mythical creatures draw on stories from their Filipino families. Its cast includes H.E.R., Liza Soberano, Lea Salonga, Jo Koy, Dave Franco, Manny Jacinto, Dolly de Leon and Ronny Chieng, with Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado serving as writers and directors.

Franchise and Global Expansion

The collaboration comes as Jollibee continues to expand internationally through a combination of company-operated and franchised restaurants. Jollibee Group reported 10,767 stores globally at the end of the first half of 2026, with approximately 70% of gross new openings during the period being franchised.

Jollibee itself has more than 1,700 restaurants globally, according to its franchising platform, with more than 100 restaurants across North America. The brand describes North America as a key franchise-growth market and is seeking multi-unit franchise partners for further expansion.

Jollibee’s North American franchise programme currently focuses on multi-unit operators, with prospective U.S. franchisees expected to have at least $10 million in net worth, $5 million in liquid assets and a commitment to develop 10 or more restaurants. The company offers several formats, including freestanding restaurants, drive-thrus, mall locations and urban storefronts.

The brand currently lists 113 locations across the United States and Canada, including 85 in the U.S. and 28 in Canada.

For Jollibee, the Forgotten Island collaboration adds an entertainment-led consumer activation to its wider international growth strategy while reinforcing the Filipino identity that the brand is taking into new markets.
